THE pLANS hE HAS

  The sun was hidden from sight by the dark, rolling clouds pushing in from the West.  Wisps of smoke traveled eerily over the bare, rocky ground slithering this way and that like little snakes.  The traveler stood on the dried broken road looking at the barren landscape.  His cloak was muddied and ripped.  The once bright color it once held had long past faded from days of journey.  It had been a gift.  A gift from the King.  
  Looking around him, he began to feel a deep uneasy tightness in the pit of his stomach.   Questions and doubt were flooding into his mind.  How could this be the way?  Had He taken a wrong turn?  Had He followed the instructions given on the map correctly?  Did the King know where he was?  Did the King care?     
 He pulled the cloak tighter seeking some warmth against the cold wind.  What light was left of the day began to fade.  A howl off in the distance pierced the travelers thoughts filling him with fear.  "This could not be the right way!" He thought.  "The King would not have sent me this way".  The doubts filling the traveler's mind were overwhelming, stripping away the his confidence in the King's Words.  "Why would He have sent me this way?"  Again his thoughts were shattered by another closer howl.  This time it was quickly followed by several other howls.  The traveler cried out with fear and began to hurry forward.  His foot tripped on a rock and he fell to the ground gasping as the ground knocked the breath from his lungs.  He lay there afraid.   "My King where are you?  You promised to never leave me nor forsake me!"  He whispered.  But there was no reply.  The howls were now turning to growls.  The traveler looked up and saw shapes  surrounding him.  Where was the King?
 The past couple of weeks have been challenging and difficult for me.  Maybe you have had a few doosies over the past days too.
